SUMMARY:LEVEL ONE – INTRO TO IMPROV- STARTS APRIL 11
DESCRIPTION:Saturdays\, April 11- May 30\n \n \n \n \n \n Class Time: 2-4pm\n \n \n \n \n \n 8 consecutive weeks\n \n \n \n \n \n Instructor: Laurel Johnson\n \n \n \n \n \n \nThe heart of long form improvisation is the two-person scene. This class is centered on grounded\, authentic two-person scene work. \nWe focus on two main elements: establishing a base reality (the who\, what\, and where) and the emotional reality of the scene (what is the character’s relationship to themselves and to the environment around them?) \nWe also touch on how to edit a scene and do support work through walk-ons and tag outs. Improvisers learn how to become comfortable playing themselves on stage and draw inspiration from their real-life experiences. \n\n\nNo prerequisites or experience necessary. Adults only. Refunds only issued with 48-hour notice before first class begins. \n\nFINANCIAL AID INFOSanta Fe Improv is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We aim to offer high quality improv classes at low cost to our community members as a result. However\, some of us have more means than others. If you’re experiencing financial hardship please connect with us about financial aid and sliding scale options; email laurel@santafeimprov.org.\n \n Get Tickets

SUMMARY:LEVEL FOUR– THE HAROLD PART 1- STARTS APRIL 11
DESCRIPTION:Saturdays\, April 11- May 30\n \n \n \n \n \n Class Time: 2-4 pm\n \n \n \n \n \n 8 consecutive weeks\n \n \n \n \n \n Instructor: Kristin Larsen\n \n \n \n \n \n \nThe Harold is the hardest longform set to play\, but it’s also the most rewarding. Every skill required to be a great longform improviser is built into the Harold. We will cover it all in this class: opening games\, group games\, 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd beats. You’ll learn premise-based initiations. You’ll learn how to create strong base realities so that you can return to them in your later beats. You will find yourself making justifications\, callbacks\, and connections. You will learn to be a better improviser. \n\nPrerequisite: Level 3 (The Game of the Scene) at Santa Fe Improv or instructor approval. \n \n Get Tickets

SUMMARY:Stand & Deliver: A Communication and Leadership Program
DESCRIPTION:Supported by the City of Santa Fe — Go Local\, Go Different Fund | Spring 2026 \n\n\nTHE PROGRAM \n\n\nThe quality of your communication has a huge influence on the impact of your work. How you express yourself to clients\, employees\, investors\, and collaborators shapes how people receive you. \n\n\nThis is a four-session program that gives you the skills to communicate more effectively across all of the environments and scenarios where it matters. You’ll learn to say less and land more\, to be comfortable in high-stakes conversations\, and to express yourself in a way that people take in. \n\n\nThe work is hands-on. You practice with real scenarios from your own business\, alongside other owners working through the same things. \n\nWHAT YOU’LL DEVELOP\n\nOver four sessions\, you move through a progression: \n\n\nCommunication Clarity One of the ways we get in our own way is trying to figure out what we’re saying while we’re saying it. When you know your point before you walk into the room\, everything moves more fluidly — the conversation\, the pitch\, the meeting. You’ll learn how to get clear on what you’re trying to express so that when you speak\, it’s simple\, direct\, and easy for others to hold on to. \n\n\nActive Listening Most miscommunication isn’t a speaking problem; it’s a listening problem. You’ll develop the ability to hear what people are actually saying\, not just what you expect them to say. When your clients and your team feel heard\, they trust you more\, they share more\, and the quality of every conversation goes up. \n\n\nCollaboration The best ideas don’t come from one person. They come from the space between people when the communication is right. You’ll learn how to create that space: how to build on what others bring\, how to make room for input without losing direction\, and how to move a group toward a decision without forcing it. \n\n\nAdaptability Every room is different. You’ll develop the ability to read what a situation asks for and adjust how you communicate\, without losing what’s true for you. This is what makes the difference between someone who has one gear and someone who can navigate anything. \n\n\nLeadership Presence Your greatest contribution as a leader is in finding the way you wish to be present. What gets in the way isn’t a lack of skill; it’s trying to be something you’re not\, or not allowing yourself to fully own your way. We help you find how you’re meant to show up. \n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n📅 Dates: April 12 – May 3\, 2026 (Every Sunday)🕐 Time: 12:30 – 3:00 pm📍 Location: Santa Fe Improv🔄 Format: Four sessions\, 2.5 hours each \n\nYOUR INVESTMENT\n\n$625 full program value $313 per person — made possible by a grant from the City of Santa Fe’s Go Local\, Go Different Fund \n\n\nPayment plans available. No one turned away for inability to pay. \n\nSanta Fe Improv delivers workforce communication training\, leadership development\, and applied improv professional development. Supported by the City of Santa Fe — Office of Economic Development through the Go Local\, Go Different Fund.\n \n GET TICKETS

SUMMARY:LEVEL THREE: THE GAME OF THE SCENE- STARTS APRIL 12
DESCRIPTION:Sundays:  April 12- May 31\n \n \n \n \n \n Class Time: 1-3pm\n \n \n \n \n \n 8 consecutive weeks\n \n \n \n \n \n Instructor: Nick Hubley\n \n \n \n \n \n You’ve done a great first scene. Now what? Can you bring the game from the first scene into a second scene? This class teaches you how to identify that game and sustain it in a second beat. We reinforce the importance of building a strong base reality (where\, who\, what) and teach you how to spot the first unusual thing. From there you work on framing\, justifying\, exploring\, and heightening. We explore the use of the time dash and analogous scene as a way to jumpstart second beats. \nThis class bridges the gap between doing one-off scenes in a classroom and moves you towards sustained longform sets in performance settings. \nPrerequisite: Level 2 or instructor approval. Adults only. \nFINANCIAL AID INFOSanta Fe Improv is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We aim to offer high quality improv classes at low cost to our community members as a result.
