DESCRIPTION:Teen Improv Intensive: Foundations– June 8-12th\n \nGrades 7–10 · No Experience Required\n\nThis one-week intensive is designed to help teens build confidence\, strengthen social skills\, and experience the thrill of live performance — all in a supportive\, professional theater environment. \n\n\nNo prior improv experience is needed. Students simply need curiosity and a willingness to collaborate. \n\nThroughout the week\, students will:\n• Learn the fundamentals of improvisation (“Yes\, And\,” listening\, ensemble)\n• Develop confidence speaking in front of others\n• Practice thinking on their feet and trusting their instincts\n• Build authentic connections with peers\n\n• Explore character and short-form performance games \n\n\nEach day blends structured teaching with hands-on scene work and rehearsal. Students are guided by two professional teaching artists\, ensuring individualized attention in a small-group setting (maximum 12 students). \n\n\nThe week culminates in a live Friday showcase during the last hour of camp on the Santa Fe Improv stage for family and friends. \n\n\nScheduleMonday\, June 8th through Friday\, June 12th\, 20269:00am–1:00pm dailyDrop-off begins at 8:45amPick-up by 1:15pmStudents should bring water and lunch each day. DESCRIPTION:Sundays\, June 14 – August 2\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Class Time: 1-3pm\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				8 consecutive weeks\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Instructor: TBA\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\nThe heart of long form improvisation is the two-person scene. This class is centered on grounded\, authentic two-person scene work. \nWe focus on two main elements: establishing a base reality (the who\, what\, and where) and the emotional reality of the scene (what is the character’s relationship to themselves and to the environment around them?) \nWe also touch on how to edit a scene and do support work through walk-ons and tag outs. Improvisers learn how to become comfortable playing themselves on stage and draw inspiration from their real-life experiences. \n\n\nNo prerequisites or experience necessary. Adults only. Refunds only issued with 48-hour notice before first class begins. \n\nFINANCIAL AID INFOSanta Fe Improv is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We aim to offer high quality improv classes at low cost to our community members as a result. However\, some of us have more means than others.
