Santa Fe Improv Hosting LA-based Comedians: Holy Sh!t Improv Team

SANTA FE, N.M. – Local non-profit, Santa Fe Improv, will host Los Angeles-based comedy troupe Holy Sh!t Improv for two special performances at the Santa Fe Improv black box theater in the Siler-Rufina Arts District on Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7, 2024. The shows will serve as a fundraiser for the SFI Improv4Schools program.

Holy Sh!t Improv, having entertained over 10,000 audience members through more than 100 shows in Los Angeles and countless performances worldwide, brings their acclaimed improvisational comedy to Santa Fe. The ensemble features renowned performers including:

  • Casey Feigh (Comedy Bang Bang, What We Do in the Shadows)
  • Jon Gabrus (Real Hotwives of Las Vegas)
  • Dave Theune (The Big Bang Theory)
  • Suzi Barrett (Drunk History)

“I’ve hand selected this cast of world-class improvisers,” says Holy Sh!t Improv founder, Casey Feigh. “Collectively, the ensemble has over 100 years’ experience performing and teaching improv. We all work in film and television but we keep coming back to perform live because of the joy and freedom we find in improv. It’s addictive in the best way – and our audiences get hooked, too!”

About Holy Sh!t Improv

Founded in July 2021 during COVID-19 lockdowns, Holy Sh!t Improv began as a response to the lack of performance outlets for improvisers. What started in a dive bar has grown into a thriving comedy institution, with regular performances at prestigious venues including Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB Comedy), Dynasty Typewriter, and The Elysian. The group has also achieved international success with sold-out shows in London, Liverpool, and Edinburgh.

About Santa Fe Improv’s Improv4Schools Program

Proceeds from these performances will support Santa Fe Improv’s Improv4Schools program, currently operating in three Santa Fe public high schools. This innovative program provides free improv training to public school students, focusing on building confidence, reducing anxiety, and developing creativity and teamwork skills.

Eric Weiss, Executive and Artistic Director of Santa Fe Improv, brings extensive experience from training with UCB Los Angeles, UCB New York, and The Groundlings. Weiss is also co-author of a study with UNMH doctors examining improv’s positive effects on anxiety, showing benefits including:

  • Reduced burnout
  • Increased tolerance of uncertainty
  • Enhanced playfulness and self-compassion
  • Greater sense of joy and connection to others
