You might want to take an improv class if….
- Your inner monologue needs new material.
- You have the kind of job where being good with people IS your job.
- Waiting in line for the bathroom is your go-to move at a party.
- You know you’re funny, you’re just not doing anything with it.
- Your therapist said “put yourself out there,” but you don’t know where “there” is.
- You have a therapist.
- Your mind works quickly, and you see things other people don’t.
- You know what Toastmasters is and you’re like, “The general idea seems cool, but the vibe is lame and I don’t want to carpool with my uncle.”
- You have no idea what Toastmasters is.
- You desperately need to imitate the way that guy said “macchiató” when he ordered at Starbucks.
- You HATE memorizing lines.
- You’ve mastered the art of awkward silence and want to graduate to witty banter.
- You want to get better at giving presentations.
- You’ve resorted to buying a new deodorant as a way to spice things up.
- You’ve heard of this thing called “subtext” and you’d like to learn more about it.
- You miss the feeling of playing on a team.
- You’re bored of CIA black ops and you need to do something that scares you.
- You’ve got the kind of job where being creative IS your job.
- You want to turn your social anxiety into charming self-deprecation.
- You’re getting over something and you’re ready to be over it.
- Technically, your relationship with Netflix is common law marriage.
- You’ve got to stop torturing yourself by scrolling through your ex’s Instagram!
- It’s on your bucket list, and if you don’t do improv it’s either skydive or go keto.
- Your resume is dialed-in… your interview skills could be better.
- Somewhere in your home, there is an unread copy of The Artist’s Way.
- Sometimes when you’re watching comedy and there’s a great joke, instead of laughing you think, “That’s a really great joke.”
If you’ve taken an improv class, why did you take your first improv class?

I wanted to meet new people, preferably interesting ones (aka weirdos)who could at least provide the illusion of friendship while we play, if not actually friendship (eventually).
