Real Angels is an improv super group that combines the very best of Chicago improv – veteran performers who have perfected the art of present, patient, and honest improv mixed with absurd whimsy. Real Angels is made up of performers from iO, The Second City, and UCB.

LAUREL KRABACHER has been working in the Chicago comedy scene for the last ten years. She got her first job writing and performing for The Mission Theater directed by TJ and Dave. At Second City she was a member of the national touring company for three years. She then wrote and performed in five sketch revues at Second City Chicago. She is currently a director for the Second City touring company as well as a teacher at Logan Square improv- where she performs with her favorite team, Real Angels! She has appeared on Chicago Med, Chicago PD, Easy, and The Bear.

MIKE BRUNLIEB is a performing and teaching artist in Chicago. He improvises with the ensembles ‘Sand’, ‘Real Angels’, and ‘3 Actors Living in a Cave’, most often performing at the wonderful Logan Square Improv theater (check them out!). Mike has received multiple awards during his fifteen years of performing and teaching improvisation, including being recognized three years in a row as one of Chicago’s top improvisers by the iO theater. He studied at the Paul Sills Theater Game Center (and beyond) with Aretha Sills and Carol Sills, and at iO Chicago with TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi. He has performed and taught improvisation internationally in Europe, Asia, and Canada. Mike has also performed in a handful of TV and film projects, including “Southside” (HBO), “Joe Pera Talks with You” (Adult Swim), and “Trial of the Chicago Seven” (Netflix).

JENELLE CHEYNE originally hails from Vancouver, Canada. She has performed in The Holy F*** Comedy Hour and Trigger Happy at The Annoyance, improvised on a number of teams at iO, and performed at Logan Square Improv with her team Real Angels. While working at The Second City she has sailed the seas, toured the country, and been an ensemble member of ETC 48: Best Kept Secret: Tell Everyone, and ETC 49: Chaos Theory of Everything. She is represented by Paonessa Talent Agency and Reign Talent and you can find her on social media @jamealchameal.

LINDSEY SMITH (Saturday show only) is a veteran improviser, director and teacher who has 14 years of experience in the Chicago comedy scene. Lindsey brings her intuitive character work and broader scope understanding of the piece at large to both her onstage performances and her teaching style. In her coaching and teaching work, she believes in creating a safe and joyous environment for folks to play and refine their true comedic voice. She has also directed and coached in corporate spaces, making her a fan favorite for both comedians and non-comedians alike. Lindsey has played with teams at The CiC Theater, iO Chicago, The Annoyance, and currently performs with the team Real Angels at Logan Square Improv on Wednesday nights.
